Good route choice in winter is essential. The aim of this one day course is to highlight the things you need to be aware of to make informed decisions when out on the hill. At the end of the day you will feel better about making your own decisions in the winter with regard to avalanches.
A winter climbing course designed to take you a step further, perhaps by exploring some winter climbing areas other than the typical Ben Nevis and Cairngorm's, or by trying a style of winter climbing you have not tried before.
Enjoy a week or weekend of classic Scottish winter climbs, with the aim of the course being to get up as many winter routes as we can. From the mixed masterpieces of the Cairngorm’s to the icy gullies of Ben Nevis or perfect quartzite hooks in the north west.
An introduction to winter climbing aims to give you a taste of what Scottish winter climbing is all about over a weekend or week. You need to have experience of summer climbing and a good level of fitness to get the most out of a winter climbing course.
Enjoy a week or just a few days climbing on Ben Nevis and in Glen Coe. We can tailor a course to suit your level of experience, whether that is wanting to climb Point Five Gully and other Nevis classics.
Some winters produce fantastic winter conditions in Wales. Both Ice and Mixed routes are a plenty so if you see that there are snowy conditions in Wales get in touch for some Welsh Winter Climbing. The season is short so make the most of it when it arrives.
